[Seoul = News Pim] Reporter Kim, Yang-seop = Wavus
(CEO Kim, Hak-sung), a spatial information industry platform company, announced
on the 1st that it has won an order for the Ethiopian Land Information System
(LIMS) construction project as the organizer. Of the total project cost of $22.23
million (KRW 308.474 billion), Wavus ' contract amount is about $10. 67 million
(KRW 14.44 billion), and the contract period is three years from November 30, 2023.
The
consortium organized by Wavus was in charge of building a digital cadastral map
for four major cities (a total of 400 square kilometers), including the Adama
region, and a land information database such as digitalization of land ledger
documents. It also plans to develop a land information system such as a land
survey system and a new address system, and establish an ICT operating
infrastructure for this. The goal of the project is to introduce an advanced
land system in Ethiopia, help the government make quick decisions when
establishing policies such as urban development plans, and dramatically improve
public service.
The Ethiopian LIMS construction project is significant in that it is the first overseas project to apply Wavus's spatial information solution, 'GeonPaas '. In the past, foreign spatial information engines
and database management systems (DBMSs) were used when conducting overseas and
domestic projects, but in this project, Wavus applied its spatial information
engines and solutions to reduce foreign currency outflows. In addition, the
company explains that the export effect is also great as the project is carried
out with a consortium of specialized small and medium-sized enterprises. In the consortium, Wavus was in charge of building
the system, advanced information technology was in charge of surveying, and
Daishin ICT was in charge of building ICT.
Wavus
intends to strengthen cooperation
with local partners and partners to foster
this as a successful example of overseas
business. In addition, by upgrading its spatial information solutions verified by
the Korean government and public institutions so far, it will further advance into the African
continent after this project and focus
more on overseas projects in other regions
.
Kim Hak-sung, CEO of Wavus, said, " This
project is meaningful in that it has been recognized for its experience in building
systems such as Wavus's Korea Land Information Management System (KLIS),
National Spatial Information (K-Geo) Platform, and Real Estate Comprehensive Study
System (Ilsa Convenience) and the technology of the company's spatial
information solution in the overseas market. We thank the officials of our
government and public institutions for helping Wavus be recognized overseas,
and we will actively participate in overseas projects in the future to enhance
the status of the Korean spatial information industry."
