WAVUS Earns Highest-Level DQ Certification for Ecosystem Climate Response Data

WAVUS, headed by CEO Hak-sung Kim, specializes in geospatial information platforms and the convergence of artificial intelligence technologies.
The certification ceremony was held at WiseStone’s main conference room and attended by senior representatives from both companies.
Since its establishment in 2004, WAVUS has provided customized systems for local governments, smart cities, the defense industry and other sectors, drawing on its proprietary cloud platform-as-a-service, or PaaS, geospatial platform and 3D digital twin technologies.
More recently, the company secured a KRW 10.7 billion public-sector AI convergence project and has been advancing a geospatial intelligence, or GeoAI, framework that combines large language models with geospatial information. Through these initiatives, WAVUS is helping modernize Korea’s public administration and disaster response systems.
The newly certified dataset comprises 365 tables and 5,734 columns containing extensive ecological and climate-related data collected from multiple relevant institutions. The data was cleansed and standardized in compliance with the data standards of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.
The dataset represents a high-quality data infrastructure capable of supporting practical climate prediction services. It is structured as a complex-type database that systematically integrates climate-monitoring attribute data with grid- and polygon-based geospatial information.
The certification assessment was conducted in accordance with the key evaluation criteria of the DQ Certification framework, which was designed with reference to the international ISO/IEC 25024 standard.
WAVUS’s data demonstrated exceptionally high levels of accuracy and consistency, with a defect rate close to zero across a comprehensive range of mandatory and optional evaluation criteria for structured data.
The criteria included data value completeness, data record completeness, syntactic validity, semantic validity, range validity, relational validity, referential integrity consistency, data format consistency, common vocabulary consistency and data value uniqueness.
“The achievement of the highest DQ Certification grade officially demonstrates the reliability of WAVUS’s precise geospatial data and climate-analysis attribute data,” said Chang-hoon Park, a representative of WAVUS.
“It is also a significant accomplishment that confirms the integrity of the high-quality, high-precision data framework underpinning our GeoAI technologies,” Park said.
“Based on this verified data, we will support the stable launch of public services through the Ecosystem Climate Response Integrated Information Management System, which is scheduled to enter full-scale operation in the second half of this year,” he added.
“We will also take the lead in linking and opening climate, energy and environmental data across government agencies as we continue our development into an advanced GeoAI platform company.”
